A solution for tackling dengue fever
For the first time, researchers at the Research and Development Institute (IRD) in France, have identified the biological mechanisms responsible for dengue fever. An apparently important step towards treating this haemorrhagic fever.
Based on work with mice, an international team identified enzymes responsible for the drain of plasma from the blood vessels which is characteristic of dengue fever, as well as the molecules likely to inhibit their action. For the first time, a method of treating this disease has been discovered.
Research is currently under way to determine whether this will lead to a model that could be used to develop treatment for other haemorrhagic fevers such as the Ebola, Marburg and Hanta viruses.
At the moment there is no treatment or vaccine for dengue fever, which is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. The only form of prevention is by eliminating the mosquitoes.

Good to know that there is an effective cure for dengue fever. To get rid of this illness, we should maintain cleanliness in our community. If we feel some symptoms, we should immediately have a test using elisa kits. These easily determines anti bodies and dengue fever in our system.
