Hospitals reform parking permits

CHANGES to the way parking permits are allocated at the county’s hospitals will not affect volunteers, according to the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust.

In the past, volunteers were each given their own permit, now they will all be stored centrally by hospital departments and given out just for the time a volunteer needs to park when they are helping out at one of the hospitals managed by the trust – the John Radcliffe and Churchill, in Headington, and The Horton, in Banbury.

An ORH trust spokesman said: “We would like to reassure all our volunteers that should they require a parking permit while volunteering for us, they will be entitled to one.

“This has always been the case.

“The only change is that now permits are given direct to the ward or department and are pooled, rather than each volunteer being issued with an individual permit.”
